Marshall Scholarship

The Marshall Scholarship awards full support to approximately 45 students for up to three years of study in any discipline at any university in the United Kingdom.

UT Candidate Declaration Deadline: August 1
National Deadline: Last week of September

Eligibility Criteria:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Hold at least one undergraduate degree from a university in the United States
  • GPA not less than 3.7 on their undergraduate degree
  • Have not studied for or hold a degree from a British University of GCSE or A Levels taken at school in the UK.
  • Exceptionally strong academic record, leadership potential, and ambassadorial potential

Campus and National Application Process:

To be considered for UT nomination for the Marshall Scholarship, which unto itself is highly competitive, you must complete both of the following no later than August 1:

  1. UT campus Declaration of Intent form
  2. Meeting with a member of OURF (the UT office responsible for facilitating campus nominations to the Marshall) to discuss your candidacy and the campus nomination process

The official Marshall Scholarship application requires:

  • A series of statements (personal, leadership, career, community)
  • A description of the program of study, the institution(s) of choice, and why the UK is where you need to study:

  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Official transcripts and a complete online application
  • UT letter of endorsement
