UT Senior, Sean Smith, to interview nationally for prestigious NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholars Program

Sean Smith, Senior Biology and Anthropology major, and one of our UT endorsed nominees for the suite of UK/Ireland Scholarships, has been invited to interview nationally for the highly competitive National Institutes of Health (NIH) Oxford-Cambridge Scholars program.  Sean will interview with an extended panel of NIH principle investigators, as well as research faculty from Oxford and/or Cambridge, in early February up in Bethesda, MD.   If awarded the NIH OxCam, Sean will pursue his PhD at Oxford and/or Cambridge, as well as his MD as a fellow at the NIH.  This opportunity is held in the same regard as the Marshall, Rhodes, Gates-Cambridge, and Mitchell, for its level of competition and the exceptional preparation necessary for qualified candidates.  As with other nationally competitive opportunities of this caliber, like the Rhodes, Marshall, Mitchell, and Gates-Cambridge, it is an honor for Sean to invited to a national interview.  Join us in wishing Sean Smith all the best!
