Received a nationally competitive award? We’d like to hear from you!

For current and former scholarships/fellowships recipients at UT:

URF is looking for informal (though, of course, appropriate!) short (no more than 2 pages) journal-like entries/essays that document part of your grant period. This can be about your time abroad, your homestay family, your research experience, your cohort, or in-country travel — whichever part of the grant year has most resonated with you. Feel free to submit excerpts from longer entries, posts from your personal travel blog, or to write specifically for this prompt. Accepted entries will be published on the URF/UT website.

Please see the submission form below for specific format guidelines. The form includes opportunities to submit travel photography and provide a link to your personal blog, as well.

Keep in mind your submission does not have to be “creative writing” — rather, we are inviting any and all scholarship recipients who would like to share their experience with current and future applicants.

For questions regarding the submission process, please contact URF via e-mail at: urf@utk.edu.

Thank you!

If you are a current or former UTK student and scholarship recipient through URF, you can submit your writing to our office here:
